Unlike Bangkok's smaller, more dispersed Filipino population, Japan's OFW community (concentrated in manufacturing, caregiving, and the Specified Skilled Worker program) is large enough to genuinely compound with Japan's own New Year holiday travel crunch. That double surge is why late-December CEB–Tokyo fares are consistently among the worst of the year — worse, proportionally, than the equivalent window on many other Philippine international routes.
