Philippine Airlines has released its January international flight schedule
|Philippine Airlines has not been discouraged from rebuilding its global network by the rapid growth of the Omicron variation around the world, despite limitations imposed by governments both at home and abroad. Flights between Manila and Hong Kong have been halted as the latter’s health regulators have imposed a two-week ban on the route after PAL was found to have imported six Covid-19 cases on December 30. On January 14, the four-times-weekly service will resume.
Due to a lack of quarantine capacity and international arrivals caps, Philippine Airlines has had to redirect some of its arriving flights. Only one flight per week will arrive in Manila from the daily Dubai service. Flights arriving on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays will be redirected to Subic; flights arriving on Sundays will land in Cebu, and flights arriving on Tuesdays will land in Davao. The airline’s twice-weekly flights between Los Angeles and Cebu have been redirected to Manila for the time being. PAL also says it will increase service frequency on some routes. Flights between Manila and London Heathrow have now quadrupled to weekly, with an additional weekly flight serving the Manila–Kuala Lumpur route compared to December. Beginning January 9, the frequency of flights to Vancouver will increase from four to five times per week in North America. However, beginning in the middle of the month, outbound services to California will be decreased, with Manila–Los Angeles flights to be flown daily on the 18th after being flown 11 times a week over the holiday season. On January 16, flights between Manila and San Francisco will be reduced from daily to five times a week.
